Why an illustration or a sketch?

At Concrete Clouds, we believe drawings are about storytelling. Drawings offer a highly effective way in which to raise questions about design; right from the first pen put to paper (or iPad!). Sketches and illustrations allow for a strain of visualisation that inspire creativity and freedom throughout the development of a scheme.

We use illustration as an alternative to showing highly polished renderings of finished schemes at stages when YOU, the client or designer, may not exactly be sure of what scheme you might, could or should develop.

At Concrete Clouds, drawings emerge alongside the design thinking, and questioning of a project; allowing for the design process to be alive and active. Fundamentally, we draw and sketch as architects always have whilst bringing drawings and projects to life in a modern, engaging and exciting way.
